Overview
The Hall Effect Sensor 6851/A3144 Magnetic Detector Switch Module is a compact digital magnetic proximity sensor designed for reliable, non-contact magnetic field detection. Based on the A3144 Hall-effect sensor, it can be used to detect the presence of a suitable magnetic pole and generate a digital switching signal for a microcontroller.
The module is useful for RPM measurement, motor speed detection, wheel rotation counting, position tracking, door or cover detection, and limit-switch applications. An onboard LED provides a convenient visual indication of the sensor's switching state during testing and development.
According to the supplied information, the signal remains HIGH when no magnetic field is detected and switches LOW when a south magnetic pole approaches the sensing face. Its simple digital output makes it convenient for integration with Arduino and other microcontroller-based systems.

Product Technical Information
Technical Details
The A3144 Hall Effect Sensor Module provides a simple way to detect magnetic fields without physical contact. When an appropriate magnetic field is brought near the sensor, the Hall-effect IC changes its digital output state, allowing a microcontroller to determine whether the magnet is present.

Working Principle
When the required magnetic pole approaches the sensing face, the Hall-effect sensor detects the magnetic field and changes its digital output. Based on the supplied information, the output is HIGH without the detected magnetic field and changes to LOW when a south magnetic pole approaches the sensor.
For RPM measurement, a magnet can be attached to a rotating object and the sensor positioned nearby. Each detected magnetic event can then be counted by a microcontroller to determine rotational speed.
Important Notes
- Check the module's actual supply-voltage requirements and pinout before connecting it to your controller.
- Magnetic detection depends on the magnet's pole orientation, strength, distance, and sensor positioning.
- The module is intended for non-contact magnetic detection and should not be treated as a conventional mechanical switch.
Package Includes
- 1 × Hall Effect Sensor 6851/A3144 Magnetic Detector Switch Module
