Overview
The ESP32-WROOM-DA Development Kit 42-Pin provides a convenient development platform based on Espressif's ESP32-WROOM-DA module. The ESP32 architecture combines 2.4GHz Wi-Fi with Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy, along with a dual-core 32-bit Xtensa LX6 processor capable of operating at up to 240MHz.
With its large 42-pin development-board layout, the board provides convenient access to a wide range of ESP32 GPIO and peripheral functions. Depending on the board design, these can be used for digital I/O, ADC, DAC, PWM, UART, SPI, I2C, I2S, touch sensing, and other supported ESP32 peripherals.
The ESP32-WROOM-DA is distinguished by its two complementary PCB antennas positioned in different directions. This antenna arrangement is intended to improve wireless connectivity and provide greater flexibility in applications where conventional single-antenna ESP32 modules may encounter difficult RF conditions.
Note: Development-board layouts, USB-to-UART chips, connectors, onboard LEDs, and other supporting components can vary between manufacturers and stock revisions. The 42-pin designation refers to the development-board header layout, not necessarily the number of GPIO pins available from the underlying WROOM-DA module.

Product Technical Information
Technical Details
The ESP32-WROOM-DA Development Kit 42-Pin is designed for developers who need Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a large number of accessible ESP32 pins in a convenient development-board format.
The underlying ESP32-WROOM-DA module incorporates the ESP32-D0WD-V3, 520KB SRAM, 448KB ROM, and an onboard SPI flash configuration depending on the module variant. Espressif lists 4MB, 8MB, and 16MB flash variants, with no PSRAM on the WROOM-DA module.
The ESP32 platform provides extensive peripheral functionality, including UART, SPI, I2C, I2S, ADC, DAC, PWM, capacitive touch, SDIO, and GPIO. This makes the board suitable for connecting sensors, displays, storage devices, motor controllers, relays, communication modules, and other peripherals.

- Configure Wi-Fi or Bluetooth functionality according to your application.
Important Notes
- 42-pin refers to the development-board header layout; it does not mean all 42 positions are independent GPIOs.
- ESP32 GPIO operates at 3.3V logic. Do not directly apply 5V signals to GPIO pins.
- Some GPIOs are used as boot-strapping pins or have other special functions. Check the pinout before assigning them to external hardware.
- GPIO34–GPIO39 on the classic ESP32 are input-only and should not be configured as normal digital outputs.
- Avoid using pins connected to the module's internal flash or other system functions.
- USB connector and USB-to-UART chip may vary according to the development-board manufacturer.
- Flash capacity is module/stock dependent; verify the actual board before configuring a fixed flash size.
- Motors, relays, solenoids, and other high-current devices should be controlled through appropriate driver circuits rather than directly from GPIO pins.
- The ESP32-WROOM-DA module itself requires a 3.0–3.6V supply; development boards may include their own power regulation.
- Espressif currently marks the ESP32-WROOM-DA as End of Life, so availability may depend on existing stock or compatible development-board production.
