Overview
The N20 12V 100 RPM Micro Metal DC Gear Motor is a miniature geared actuator designed for projects where compact dimensions, controlled speed, and useful torque are important. Its N20-style form factor makes it suitable for small robotic platforms, grippers, mechanisms, and other applications where conventional DC motors are too large.
The integrated all-metal spur gearbox provides mechanical reduction while maintaining a compact footprint. The motor features a 3mm D-shaped single-side output shaft, allowing compatible wheels, gears, hubs, and linkages to be securely attached for various mechanical applications.
Rated for 12V DC operation with an indicated operating range of 6V to 12V, the motor delivers a specified 100 RPM output speed. Its rated torque is 0.52 kg-cm, while the stated stall torque reaches 1.8 kg-cm. Actual performance, current draw, speed, and operating temperature depend on supply voltage, mechanical load, gearbox condition, and operating duration.

Product Technical Information
Technical Details
The N20 Micro Metal DC Gear Motor combines a miniature DC motor with a metal reduction gearbox to provide controlled mechanical output for compact projects. Its small size makes it particularly useful in micro-robotics, miniature vehicles, automated mechanisms, and space-limited enclosures.
The 3mm D-type output shaft is designed for use with matching wheels, gears, pulleys, hubs, and mechanical linkages. The D-profile helps reduce rotational slipping when properly matched with the mechanical component.
With a 100 RPM output speed at 12V and a specified 0.52 kg-cm rated torque, this motor is well suited to applications requiring slower controlled movement. The stated 1.8 kg-cm stall torque provides an indication of the motor's maximum torque under stall conditions, but continuous operation at stall should be avoided because it can cause rapid heating and excessive current draw.

How to Use
- Connect the motor to a suitable DC motor driver or H-bridge.
- Use an appropriate DC supply within the indicated 6V–12V operating range.
- Attach a compatible wheel, gear, hub, or linkage to the 3mm D-type shaft.
- Use a motor driver when direction control or PWM speed control is required.
- Secure the motor mechanically using suitable M3 hardware.
- Avoid continuous stall operation and monitor the motor for excessive heating during high-load applications.
Important Notes
- The specified 100 RPM is the stated motor output speed at its rated operating condition; actual speed can vary with voltage and mechanical load.
- Current consumption increases significantly as mechanical load increases.
- Do not operate the motor continuously in a stalled or heavily overloaded condition.
- Use an appropriate motor driver rather than connecting the motor directly to a microcontroller GPIO.
- When using M3 screws on the gearbox/front plate, do not insert screws too deeply, as they may interfere with and lock the internal gears.
- Take care when soldering wires to the rear motor terminals. Excessive heat can damage the motor's rear endcap assembly.
- Keep the exposed gearbox away from sand, dust, grit, and other debris that could interfere with the gears.
- Product dimensions may vary slightly between batches.
- Please allow approximately 5% measuring deviation due to manual measurement.
