The USB Type-C PD Trigger Module is a compact fast-charge negotiation board for obtaining selected DC voltage levels from compatible USB-C power supplies. It can be configured to request common voltage profiles such as 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V, and 20V, depending on the capabilities of the connected charger and the module.

Unlike a conventional boost converter, this module does not step up the voltage itself. Instead, it communicates with a compatible power source and requests the required voltage through supported fast-charging protocols such as USB Power Delivery (PD), QC, and AFC.

It can be useful for powering electronics projects from USB-C laptop chargers, fast-charge adapters, or compatible power banks. Makers can use it as a simple power-input interface when a project requires a convenient higher-voltage DC source.

Important: The selected voltage will only be provided if the connected power source supports the requested charging protocol and voltage profile. Always verify the output voltage with a multimeter before connecting sensitive electronics. Do not connect a 9V, 12V, 15V, or 20V output directly to a circuit designed only for 5V.
