Product Technical Information

Technical Details

The RadioMaster Pocket Radio Controller (M2) is a compact RC transmitter designed to provide flexible, precise control for FPV drones, RC airplanes, and other compatible radio-controlled models. Its portable form factor combines Hall-effect gimbals, programmable controls, and EdgeTX firmware, making it suitable for pilots who want advanced configuration features without carrying a full-size radio.

The Pocket is available in two primary RF configurations: ExpressLRS (ELRS) 2.4GHz and CC2500 multi-protocol. These versions use different radio systems, so the appropriate version should be selected according to the receiver installed in your aircraft or model. Both versions feature a monochrome LCD, a foldable antenna, removable stick ends, and a nano-size external module bay.

Features

  • Compact and Portable Design: Lightweight construction with a foldable antenna and removable stick ends makes the controller convenient to transport.

  • Hall-Effect Gimbals: Provide smooth stick movement and precise control input.

  • EdgeTX Firmware: Supports customizable model configurations, control assignments, and transmitter settings.

  • Two RF Options: Available with an integrated 2.4GHz ExpressLRS or CC2500 multi-protocol module.

  • Up to 16 Channels: Supports up to 16 control channels, depending on the receiver and radio configuration.

  • Monochrome LCD: The 128 × 64 display provides access to model settings, telemetry information, and transmitter menus.

  • USB-C Charging: Supports onboard charging for compatible installed batteries.

  • Nano-Size External Module Bay: Allows compatible external RF modules, including supported RadioMaster nano-size modules and TBS Nano Crossfire/Nano Tracer modules.

  • Adjustable Stick Tension: Stick tension and centering can be adjusted to suit pilot preferences.

  • Firmware Upgrade Support: Firmware can be updated through USB or the microSD card, following the manufacturer's instructions.

Applications

  • FPV drone control and racing.

  • Freestyle FPV quadcopters.

  • RC airplanes and fixed-wing models.

  • Compatible RC gliders and other hobby aircraft.

  • Radio-controlled model projects and experimentation.

  • Simulator practice using a supported connection setup.

  • Custom RC systems using compatible receivers and external RF modules.

How to Use

  1. Choose the correct RF version: Select ELRS or CC2500 according to the receiver and protocol required by your RC model.

  2. Install the batteries: Insert two compatible 18650 Li-ion cells, observing the correct polarity. Batteries are not included.

  3. Power on the controller: Confirm the battery level and check that the transmitter starts normally.

  4. Configure the model: Use EdgeTX to create a model profile and configure the required channels, switches, stick assignments, and other settings.

  5. Bind the receiver: Follow the appropriate binding procedure for the installed RF system and receiver firmware.

  6. Check controls and failsafe: With the propellers removed where applicable, verify stick directions, channel mapping, switch operation, and failsafe behavior before operating the model.

  7. Perform a range check: Follow the radio manufacturer's procedure and applicable local requirements before flying.

Important Notes

  • ELRS and CC2500 are different RF systems. Verify receiver compatibility before purchasing; a receiver designed for one system may not bind directly to the other.

  • The maximum channel count depends on the receiver, RF protocol, and configuration.

  • Two 18650 batteries are required but are not included in the standard package.

  • Use compatible, good-quality 18650 cells and follow the manufacturer's battery and charging guidance.

  • USB-C charging support does not mean every USB-C power adapter or charging mode is supported. Follow the specified charging requirements.

  • External RF modules must be compatible with the nano-size module bay and the intended protocol.

  • Radio range depends on the RF version, receiver, antenna setup, interference, and local operating conditions. Do not assume a fixed range for every setup.

  • Check the selected regional version (FCC or LBT) and follow applicable radio-frequency regulations.

  • Package contents and color availability may vary by seller or selected version.
