XL4015 5A DC-DC Adjustable Buck Converter with Display – 4V–38V Input, 1.25V–36V Output

The XL4015 5A Adjustable Buck Converter with Display converts a higher DC input voltage into an adjustable lower DC output. It is a buck-only converter, so the output voltage should normally be set below the input voltage.

The XL4015 IC uses a fixed 180kHz switching frequency and incorporates internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, and short-circuit protection. The manufacturer specifies the IC for 8V–36V operating input and an adjustable output range of 1.25V–32V at IC level. How to Use

1. Connect the DC input to the IN+ and IN− terminals.
2. Connect the load to the OUT+ and OUT− terminals.
3. Before connecting a sensitive load, power the module and adjust the output voltage to the required level.
4. Check the displayed voltage and confirm the polarity.
5. Connect the load and monitor the displayed current and power.
6. For loads above approximately 3A, provide suitable cooling and airflow; a heat sink is recommended.

Important Notes

• This is a step-down/buck converter only; it cannot increase the input voltage.
• The XL4015 IC's specified operating input range is 8V–36V and its specified adjustable output range is 1.25V–32V.
• The advertised module ranges of 4V–38V input and up to 36V output are module-specific specifications and should not be interpreted as the IC's recommended operating limits.
• 5A is a maximum capability, not necessarily a continuous current that can be maintained under every voltage, temperature, and cooling condition.

• The module is non-isolated, so input and output grounds are electrically related.
• For lithium battery charging, correct charging voltage/current and a suitable battery protection/BMS arrangement are required. This module alone should not be assumed to provide complete lithium battery management.
