Overview
The 5mm Green LED is a simple and versatile component for adding visual indicators to electronic circuits. Its standard 5mm through-hole package makes it easy to install on breadboards, perfboards, and PCBs.
Green 5mm LEDs are commonly used as power, status, signal, and warning indicators. Typical standard green versions have a forward voltage around 1.8–2.2V and a forward-current rating of approximately 20mA, although exact electrical and optical characteristics can vary by LED type and manufacturer.
The LED is polarized, so it must be connected in the correct direction and operated with a suitable current-limiting resistor.

Product Technical Information
Technical Details
The 5mm Green LED is a compact general-purpose indicator diode designed for electronic circuits requiring a visible green light. Its standard through-hole format is compatible with breadboards, PCBs, perfboards, and many DIY electronics projects.
It can be used to indicate power, operating status, logic states, warnings, or other circuit conditions. The compact size also makes it useful for control panels, educational projects, robotics, and embedded systems.

How to Use
Connect the LED in the correct polarity and place a suitable current-limiting resistor in series with the LED.
For a typical 5V supply, a resistor such as 150Ω–330Ω may be appropriate depending on the desired LED current and the actual forward voltage. Always calculate the resistor value based on the specific circuit.
Important Notes
- The LED is polarity-sensitive.
- The longer lead is generally the anode (+) and the shorter lead is generally the cathode (−).
- Do not connect the LED directly across a power supply without a current-limiting resistor.
- Exact forward voltage, brightness, lens style, and wavelength can vary by batch.
- Do not exceed the LED's rated forward current.
- Product appearance may vary slightly from the image.
