Overview
The GP-02 GPS Module is an ultra-small GNSS development board designed for embedded positioning, location tracking, navigation, and GPS data acquisition applications. Built around the AT6558R satellite positioning chip, it integrates an RF front end, digital baseband processor, power management functions, and a 32-bit RISC processor into a compact development platform.
With support for BDS, GPS, and GLONASS, the module can receive signals from multiple satellite positioning systems, making it suitable for a variety of outdoor positioning applications. The onboard ceramic antenna provides a convenient integrated solution for projects where a compact GPS/GNSS receiver is required.
The module communicates through a UART serial interface and supports the NMEA protocol, allowing positioning data such as latitude, longitude, altitude, and time to be read by compatible microcontrollers and development boards.
Its compact design and low-power characteristics make the GP-02 suitable for vehicle tracking, drones, robotics, IoT devices, GPS data logging, smart agriculture, mapping, and embedded navigation projects.

How To Use
- Connect the module to a suitable regulated power supply according to the board's voltage requirements.
- Connect TX and RX to the corresponding UART interface of your microcontroller or development board.
- Place the module where it has a clear view of the sky for better satellite signal reception.
- Use a serial monitor or compatible GPS parsing library to read NMEA positioning data.
- Process the received data to obtain information such as latitude, longitude, altitude, and time.
- For best reception, keep the ceramic antenna facing upward and away from large metal objects or other sources of interference.
Important Notes
- GPS/GNSS reception is generally better outdoors or in locations with a clear view of the sky.
- Satellite lock time can vary depending on environmental conditions and signal availability.
- Indoor operation, buildings, metal structures, and electromagnetic interference can reduce reception quality.
- Verify the module's required supply voltage before powering it.
- UART TX/RX voltage levels should be compatible with the connected controller.
- NMEA output must be parsed correctly by the host controller or software.
- Positioning accuracy can vary depending on satellite visibility, antenna placement, atmospheric conditions, and surrounding obstacles.
- Product specifications and board appearance may vary slightly between manufacturing batches.
