Overview
The HC-04 Ultrasonic Distance Sensor Module is an affordable and easy-to-use solution for measuring the distance between a sensor and an object without physical contact. It works by transmitting an ultrasonic pulse and measuring the time required for the reflected echo to return. The measured echo duration can then be converted into distance.
With its VCC, TRIG, ECHO, and GND interface, the module can be connected easily to Arduino and other microcontroller-based projects. The commonly specified HC-SR04-type module operates at 5V DC, uses a 40kHz ultrasonic frequency, and provides a nominal measuring range of approximately 2cm to 400cm, with accuracy that can reach around 3mm under suitable conditions.

The HC-04 Ultrasonic Distance Sensor Module is designed for measuring the distance between the sensor and an object without requiring physical contact. It uses ultrasonic sound waves to detect nearby objects and calculate their distance.
The module contains an ultrasonic transmitter and receiver along with the necessary control circuitry. When a trigger signal is applied, the sensor sends an ultrasonic pulse. When the pulse reflects from an object and returns to the receiver, the module produces an ECHO signal whose duration can be used by a microcontroller to calculate the distance.
