Overview
The MT3608 2A Max DC-DC Step-Up Boost Converter Module is a compact and affordable power solution for applications where a higher voltage is required from a lower-voltage DC source. Its adjustable output makes it suitable for powering different electronic circuits from batteries and other low-voltage supplies.
The module can accept an input voltage of approximately 2V to 24V and provides an adjustable output of approximately 5V to 28V. Depending on the input/output voltage combination, load, and thermal conditions, practical continuous current is lower than the advertised 2A maximum.
As a boost converter, the output voltage must be higher than the input voltage. The MT3608 IC incorporates over-current and thermal protection features, helping protect the converter when operating conditions become excessive.

The MT3608 2A Max DC-DC Step Up Power Module is an adjustable boost converter designed to raise a lower DC input voltage to a higher output voltage. It is commonly used in battery-powered electronics, embedded systems, Arduino projects, portable devices, and DIY power supply applications.
The module accepts an input voltage of approximately 2V–24V and provides an adjustable output of approximately 5V–28V. An onboard adjustment potentiometer allows the output voltage to be configured according to the requirements of the connected circuit.
Because this is a boost converter, the desired output voltage must be higher than the input voltage. Also, increasing the output voltage reduces the available output current because the converter cannot deliver more power than it receives, apart from conversion losses.
Although the module is commonly advertised as a 2A maximum converter, the practical continuous current depends heavily on input voltage, output voltage, temperature, and cooling. For demanding applications, operate within conservative current limits and verify the output voltage before connecting sensitive electronics.
The MT3608 converter IC also provides over-current and thermal limiting features that can help protect the module during excessive load conditions.
