Overview
The Raspberry Pi Camera Module V1.3 is a small and lightweight camera board designed to connect directly to the dedicated CSI camera interface of compatible Raspberry Pi boards. Its compact size makes it useful for embedded projects where space and weight are important.
The camera uses a 5-megapixel OmniVision OV5647 sensor with a fixed-focus onboard lens. It can capture still images at 2592 × 1944 pixels and supports multiple video modes, including 1080p at 30fps, 720p at 60fps, and 640 × 480 at 60/90fps.
A 15-pin MIPI CSI ribbon cable connects the camera directly to the Raspberry Pi camera interface. The CSI connection is designed for high-speed transfer of image data between the camera and Raspberry Pi, making it suitable for applications such as robotics, monitoring, computer vision, time-lapse photography, and educational projects.
