Product Technical Information
Technical Details
The SIM A7670C R2 is a compact LTE Cat 1 cellular module designed for embedded wireless communication. It combines LTE data connectivity with GSM/GPRS/EDGE support, making it suitable for projects that require cellular communication across supported networks.
The module supports a maximum LTE data rate of 10Mbps downlink and 5Mbps uplink. It provides UART serial communication and AT-command control for configuring and operating the modem.
The A7670C variant supports LTE-FDD B1/B3/B5/B8, LTE-TDD B34/B38/B39/B40/B41, and GSM 900/1800MHz. This makes it particularly suited to supported LTE and GSM networks in regions where these bands are deployed.

How to Use
- Confirm the exact hardware variant and its required supply voltage before powering the module.
- Insert a compatible SIM card if the carrier/network application requires one.
- Connect the appropriate cellular antenna before network operation.
- Connect the module's UART interface to the STM32, Raspberry Pi, or other host controller using the appropriate electrical interface.
- Apply a stable power supply suitable for the supplied board/variant.
- Allow the modem to initialize and register with a supported cellular network.
- Open a serial terminal or communicate through the host controller.
- Send supported AT commands to configure the module and check network status.
- Configure the required LTE/GPRS data connection according to the carrier and application.
- For Raspberry Pi or Linux-based systems, use the appropriate serial/USB communication method and modem software for the specific hardware implementation.
Important Notes
- The bare A7670C module operates from approximately 3.4–4.2V, with 3.8V typical according to SIMCom. Do not apply 5V directly to the bare module's supply pins.
- The supplied 5–8.4V specification should be treated as the input requirement of the offered board/assembly, not as the bare modem's supply voltage.
- Verify the exact R2 board's power circuitry and pinout before connecting an external supply.
- Cellular modules can experience substantially higher instantaneous current demand during transmission than during idle or hibernation. Use an adequately rated, stable power source and suitable decoupling.
- Network availability depends on the local carrier and supported frequency bands.
- The A7670C and A7670E are different variants. Do not use A7670E band information when configuring an A7670C installation.
- The A7670C official band configuration is LTE-FDD B1/B3/B5/B8 and LTE-TDD B34/B38/B39/B40/B41; the supplied B7/B20 entries should not be attributed to the A7670C variant.
- Maximum LTE speed is a modem capability, not a guaranteed real-world network speed.
- A suitable SIM card and carrier service are required for cellular connectivity.
- Antenna selection and placement significantly affect cellular performance.
- UART voltage levels must be checked before directly connecting to a microcontroller or Raspberry Pi.
- AT commands and available functions can depend on firmware version and module configuration.
- Please allow approximately 5% measuring deviation for manually measured product/shipment dimensions where applicable.
- Product images and physical board layouts may differ from the actual supplied variant.
