The TBS Mambo Tracer Remote FPV RC Radio Controller is an advanced radio transmitter developed by Team BlackSheep for FPV pilots and RC enthusiasts. It combines an integrated TBS Tracer RF system with a traditional full-size transmitter layout, offering a versatile control solution for compatible drones and RC aircraft.

Unlike transmitters that require a separate external RF module for Tracer communication, the TBS Mambo has a built-in 2.4GHz Tracer transmission system. It supports the CRSF V3 protocol and up to 12 control channels, allowing pilots to configure multiple control functions for their aircraft.

The controller uses full-size digital Hall-effect gimbals with ball bearings, providing smooth and precise stick movement. Adjustable resistance, tension, and throttle travel help users customize the control feel according to their preferences.

Its 3.5-inch LCD display provides access to model configuration and radio settings. FreedomTX firmware supports model profiles, mixes, switches, and other customizable control functions. The JR-compatible module bay also allows compatible external RF modules to be installed, including TBS Crossfire modules.

How to Use

1. Install two compatible 18650 rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, observing the correct polarity.

2. Power on the TBS Mambo transmitter.

3. Create a new model profile or select an existing profile using the FreedomTX interface.

4. Install a compatible TBS Tracer receiver in your FPV drone or RC aircraft.

5. Configure the transmitter and receiver with compatible TBS Tracer firmware and binding settings.

6. Complete the receiver binding procedure.

7. Assign the required channels, switches, and control functions to your model.

8. Check gimbal calibration and verify the movement direction of all control channels.

9. Configure failsafe settings and test the receiver connection before operating the aircraft.

10. Use the USB-C connection to connect the transmitter to a compatible RC simulator when required.

Important Notes

• The TBS Mambo has a built-in TBS Tracer system, not built-in TBS Crossfire or ExpressLRS. It requires compatible TBS Tracer receivers for its integrated RF system.

• The JR-compatible module bay supports compatible external modules, including TBS Crossfire modules.

• The RF output power is configurable from 25mW to 1W, subject to hardware version, regional regulations, and firmware restrictions.

• The advertised operating range depends on RF output power, receiver equipment, antenna positioning, interference, and environmental conditions. Do not treat advertised maximum range as guaranteed.

• Two 18650 rechargeable Li-ion batteries are required and are not included in the standard package.

• Use compatible, properly matched batteries and observe correct polarity.

• The transmitter uses FreedomTX firmware. Verify firmware compatibility before installing updates or modifying the SD card contents.

• Always test control directions, receiver binding, and failsafe behavior before flight.

• Avoid operating the transmitter with a damaged or improperly installed antenna.
