Walksnail Avatar VRX

The Walksnail Avatar VRX is an external digital FPV video receiver developed for the Walksnail Avatar HD video transmission ecosystem. It allows pilots to receive digital video from compatible Walksnail Avatar VTX units and display the footage through an HDMI-compatible monitor, television or FPV goggle system.

Operating in the 5.725–5.850GHz frequency range, the receiver uses a four-antenna design to improve reception performance. Its HDMI output supports 1080p at 60fps and 720p at 100fps or 60fps, providing flexible display options for different FPV viewing setups.

The Avatar VRX also features Canvas Mode OSD support, allowing flight information from compatible Betaflight, INAV and KISS systems to be displayed on the video feed. Its built-in microSD card slot supports cards up to 256GB, making it useful for recording received FPV footage.

With a compact external design, RP-SMA antenna connections and a standard DC power input, the Walksnail Avatar VRX is suitable for pilots who want to experience Walksnail digital HD video without replacing their entire display system, provided their existing goggles or monitor support HDMI input.

How to Use

1. Attach the compatible LHCP antennas to the receiver's RP-SMA antenna connectors.

2. Connect the receiver to a compatible HDMI-equipped FPV goggle, monitor or display using the HDMI cable.

3. Connect a suitable 2S–5S power source through the DC 5.5 × 2.1mm power input.

4. Power on the receiver and the compatible Walksnail Avatar VTX system.

5. Complete the binding process if the receiver and transmitter are not already paired.

6. Select the appropriate HDMI input on your display device.

7. Configure the compatible flight controller's Canvas Mode OSD settings if flight information is required.

8. Insert a supported microSD card to record received video when needed.

Important Notes

• The Walksnail Avatar VRX is a receiver only; it does not include an aircraft-side VTX or camera system.

• It is compatible with the Walksnail Avatar HD ecosystem, not DJI, HDZero or Walksnail Ascent systems.

• Your goggles or display must have HDMI input. Analog-only FPV goggles cannot directly display the receiver's HDMI output.

• The specified power input is 7–21V (2S–5S). Do not connect a 6S battery directly unless the particular hardware revision explicitly supports it.

• Use compatible LHCP antennas with RP-SMA connectors for proper reception.

• The 256GB microSD support refers to the maximum supported card capacity; the card may need suitable formatting.

• Actual video range and reception quality depend on antenna placement, interference, transmitter configuration and local RF regulations.

• Check the power and HDMI connector compatibility of your equipment before installation.
