Technical Details
CJMCU-9833 AD9833BRMZ Programmable Waveform Generator
The CJMCU-9833 AD9833BRMZ is a compact programmable waveform generator module based on Analog Devices' AD9833 direct digital synthesis (DDS) technology. It provides a convenient way to generate different periodic waveforms for electronics testing, development, signal processing, and educational applications.
Multiple Waveform Outputs
The module supports three commonly used waveform types:
Sine wave
Triangular wave
Square wave
This flexibility allows the module to be used for a wide range of signal-generation and circuit-testing applications.
DDS-Based Frequency Generation
The AD9833 uses a 28-bit frequency register and a direct digital synthesis architecture to provide precise programmable frequency control. With its 25 MHz reference clock, the theoretical frequency resolution can reach approximately 0.1 Hz.
The AD9833 can generate output frequencies up to approximately 12.5 MHz, although the usable signal quality and practical operating range depend on the selected waveform and module implementation.
Serial Microcontroller Control
The module can be controlled through its 3-wire serial interface, allowing a host microcontroller to configure the waveform and frequency. It can therefore be integrated into projects using Arduino, ESP32, STM32, and other compatible development platforms.
Compact Development Module
The CJMCU-9833 is designed as a compact breakout-style module, making it convenient for breadboard prototyping, laboratory experiments, embedded systems, and portable test equipment.
Applications
The AD9833 waveform generator module can be used for:
Signal generation
Electronics laboratory experiments
Frequency-response testing
Amplifier testing
Filter testing
Signal-processing projects
Arduino waveform-generation projects
ESP32 signal-generation projects
STM32 development
Educational electronics
Embedded test equipment
Function-generator prototypes
Important Note
The AD9833 is a DDS waveform generator rather than a complete bench-top function generator. Output amplitude, signal quality, frequency range, and other electrical characteristics can depend on the particular CJMCU-9833 board implementation and external circuitry. For precision laboratory applications, verify the module's actual electrical specifications before use.
