Overview
Build long-range wireless communication into your electronics projects with the REYAX RYLR998 LoRa Transceiver Module. Designed for low-power, long-distance communication, this module provides a convenient way to connect microcontrollers and embedded systems without requiring a complicated RF development process.
The RYLR998 combines a Nuvoton MCU and Semtech LoRa engine with a simple UART interface. Its AT command-based operation makes it easier to configure wireless communication, send data, and manage connected devices using compatible microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, STM32, and other UART-enabled platforms.
With RF output power up to +22dBm, receiver sensitivity of -129dBm, and a built-in antenna, the module is suitable for applications requiring reliable communication over extended distances. It also supports low-power operating modes and data encryption for suitable wireless sensor and monitoring networks.

Product Technical Information
Technical Details
The REYAX RYLR998 868/915MHz LoRa Antenna Transceiver Module is designed to provide long-range wireless communication for embedded systems and Internet of Things applications. It uses LoRa spread-spectrum technology to transmit data over extended distances while supporting low-power operation for battery-powered devices.
The module integrates a Nuvoton microcontroller and Semtech LoRa engine, allowing users to manage wireless communication through a UART serial interface. Instead of developing a complete LoRa radio protocol from scratch, developers can use AT commands to configure communication parameters and exchange data between compatible modules.
Its built-in antenna, high receiver sensitivity, and adjustable RF output power make it suitable for wireless sensor networks, remote equipment monitoring, automation, and other applications where conventional short-range wireless communication may not provide sufficient coverage.

How to Use
Connect the module's VCC pin to a regulated 3.3V supply within its specified voltage range.
Connect GND to the common ground of the microcontroller or development board.
Connect the module's TX pin to the controller's UART RX pin.
Connect the module's RX pin to the controller's UART TX pin.
Configure the UART communication settings according to the module documentation.
Send the appropriate AT commands to configure parameters such as address, network settings, frequency-related settings, and transmission power.
Connect another compatible LoRa module using matching communication settings.
Send and receive data through the UART interface.
Important Notes
The RYLR998 operates from a regulated 2.3V–3.6V supply. Do not connect it directly to 5V.
Its UART logic is designed for low-voltage operation. Use a suitable logic-level converter when connecting to 5V microcontrollers.
Both communicating modules must use compatible frequency bands and communication parameters.
The 868MHz and 915MHz versions must be selected according to local radio-frequency regulations.
The RYLR998 uses REYAX's proprietary LoRa protocol; it is not a direct LoRaWAN module.
Maximum communication range depends on antenna placement, obstacles, interference, transmission settings, and environmental conditions.
The module can draw approximately 140mA during transmission at maximum RF output power. Ensure the power supply can provide sufficient current.
Follow local regulations regarding permitted frequency bands and RF transmission power.
