XL4015 5A DC-DC Step Down Buck Converter 5–32V to 0.8–30V Adjustable Power Supply Module

The XL4015 5A 5V–32V DC-DC Step Down Adjustable Power Supply Module is a compact adjustable buck converter for reducing DC voltage efficiently. The output voltage is controlled using the onboard adjustment potentiometer.

How to Use

1. Connect the DC input to the IN+ and IN− terminals.
2. Make sure the input voltage is higher than the desired output voltage.
3. Before connecting the load, measure the output voltage using a multimeter.
4. Turn the adjustment potentiometer to set the required output voltage.
5. Connect the load to the OUT+ and OUT− terminals.
6. For high-current applications, provide adequate heatsinking and airflow.

If the module initially appears to output approximately the input voltage and the adjustment seems ineffective, turn the adjustment potentiometer through several turns in the appropriate direction and then recheck the output. Always verify the actual output with a multimeter before connecting sensitive electronics.

Important Notes

• This is a buck/step-down converter. The input voltage must normally be higher than the required output voltage.
• The XL4015 IC itself is specified for an 8–36V operating input range, while the particular module listing may specify 5–32V. For reliable operation, verify the actual module version before using low input voltages.
• The 5A rating should not be treated as a guaranteed continuous 5A output under every condition. Thermal performance, input/output voltage difference, PCB design, airflow, and heatsinking affect usable current.
• The advertised 75W output should also be considered a practical/module-dependent rating rather than a universal operating condition.
• Maximum efficiency is operating-condition dependent; it does not mean the module will maintain 96% efficiency at every voltage and load.
• Do not connect an AC supply directly to this module.
• This module is non-isolated, so input and output do not provide galvanic isolation.
• Check polarity carefully before powering the module.
• Always measure and confirm the output voltage before connecting sensitive loads.
• The module and inductor can become hot during high-current operation.
• Keep the module away from children and prevent accidental short circuits.
